“I think raising a child is probably something like this too.”

Tegoshi-san who is widely known as a dog-lover. The fearless demeanor he has when he is in work-mode quickly softens when he holds his pet teacup poodle Skull-kun…

“Skull is a great comfort to me. When you are living alone, doesn’t it get lonely sometimes? So it’s nice having a comforting presence like him around. Whatever I’m doing at home, he’ll be sitting on my knee. When I go into the changing room, he seems to know that I’m going out, and he’ll have this sad face.”

He seems to love his dog very much, does Tegoshi-san have his own policy on training his dog?

“I was thorough in training him! I don’t really scold him when he fails, but when he succeeds I will give him lots of praises. He seems quite smart, and has become quite fast at learning things. Taking care of him everyday is tough, it’s like raising a child (laugh). His name comes from my love for skull patterns (Skull-kun was wearing skull-patterned clothes on the day of the shoot too). Although skull patterns may be said to bring bad luck, I’m not bothered. I’m the type who doesn’t like being the same as others. To be honest, with regards to fashion, I’m not too concerned with what is the ‘in’ thing.”

Any plans to let him debut on television?

“If an offer comes, yes! I was talking with the staff of Dekawanko, and we were saying that if there’s a chance we’d like to let him appear. Maybe he’ll suddenly appear on TV, so please watch out for it!”
